Carol has over 20 years of international professional experience in the domains of special education, early childhood development, and educational consulting. She has worked for or consulted organisations that serve pre-schoolers and students with special needs, in Singapore, China, Myanmar and Indonesia. Demonstrating an unwavering commitment to serving children with special needs and their families, Carol has garnered numerous appreciation testimonials from parents and caregivers. Her impactful contributions have positively influenced the lives of over 200 special needs children, focusing not only on their academic achievements but also on enhancements in their communication, social interaction and daily living skills. She has successfully supported children with mild learning challenges and other special needs to integrate in mainstream preschools/schools.
Carol's proficiency in addressing students with learning and other special needs spans a wide range of diagnosis, including Autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Developmental Delay, and Intellectual Disabilities. Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, she remains dedicated to continuous professional development and is trained in a number of assessment and intervention methodologies. Her specialization lies in communication and language development, social skills, and behavioural intervention for students with learning and other special needs. She is an advocate for having children with special needs to attend, as early as possible, early intervention programs that can effectively support them on communication, self-regulation and school readiness skills, as these skills will greatly enhance their social integration with peers and ability to cope in mainstream schools. She supports the creation of inclusive and supportive educational environments for every child she encounters.
